Did undergraduate and master’s degree in physics at the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina. She holds a doctorate in Physics from the Brazilian Center for Physics Research (CBPF, 1993), with emphasis on experimental biophysics, having done an internship sandwich in 1989-1990 at the University of Waterloo, Canada. Conducted postdoctoral research at CBPF and Biophysics Institute of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ-IBCCF), with emphasis on theoretical and computational biophysics. He was Visiting Professor of IBCCF-UFRJ 1997 to 2001. He also served as examiner of patents in the area of physics at the National Institute of Industrial Property in 2006-2007. Currently, his research lines are: statistical physics, nonlinear phenomena, stochastic dynamics and complex systems.
